Anti-Fraud & Platform Integrity Policy
Last updated: 15 September 2026
1. Purpose and Scope
Lunovia Records distributes music on behalf of artists and partner labels into services we do not control. The value of that catalogue — and the money that flows back through it — depends on it being clean. A single manipulated release can lead a store to penalise an entire catalogue, including the releases of artists who did nothing wrong. This policy exists to protect those artists.
It applies to everyone who uses the platform: artists, managers, producers, songwriters, rights holders, partner labels and anyone acting on their behalf. It covers accounts, submissions, releases, metadata, artwork, documentation, communications, payouts and use of our interfaces and APIs.
2. How We Classify Conduct
We do not treat every problem as fraud, and the distinction matters to the outcome.
- Intentional fraud — conduct designed to deceive: manipulated streaming, false ownership claims, forged documents, identity fraud, deliberate evasion of a prior decision.
- Reckless conduct — not designed to deceive, but undertaken without reasonable care: buying a promotion package without asking where the traffic comes from, submitting a work on someone else's behalf without checking that they agreed.
- Accidental breaches — typographical errors, wrong credits, a duplicate upload, a misunderstanding of a rule.
- Third-party conduct affecting you — activity carried out by someone else, on your releases, without your knowledge: a compromised account, a marketer acting beyond their brief, a bad-faith report.
An accidental breach is a correction. Reckless conduct usually results in a warning and a requirement to stop. Intentional fraud is treated as a serious breach.
3. Artificial Streaming and Engagement Manipulation
Artificial streaming is prohibited. This means any activity intended to generate plays, listener counts, followers, saves, playlist adds or engagement that do not represent genuine listening.
Prohibited activity includes:
- buying streams, plays, listeners, followers or saves,
- using bot networks, stream farms, click farms or emulator networks,
- automated, scripted or looped playback intended to inflate counts,
- incentivised listening arranged in order to move platform metrics rather than to reach an audience,
- coordinated campaigns organised to produce artificial activity,
- placement on playlists obtained through payment or reciprocal arrangements presented as organic,
- using any service that claims to guarantee streams, listener numbers, chart positions or algorithmic placement,
- attempting to disguise artificial activity, for example by spreading it across releases, accounts or time periods.
Using a third-party service does not transfer responsibility. If activity on your releases is manipulated, the consequences apply to your releases and your account regardless of who arranged it. This is the single most common way an otherwise legitimate artist ends up in an enforcement process, which is why the next section deals with it separately.
4. Third-Party Promotion Services
Lunovia Records does not endorse, certify or vet third-party promotion, playlist or marketing services. If you use one, you are responsible for what it does.
Treat the following as warning signs:
- guaranteed stream, listener or follower numbers,
- guaranteed playlist placement or a guaranteed algorithmic push,
- pricing far below what genuine advertising costs,
- claims that a service is bot-free, royalty-safe or store-approved without any explanation of how,
- unwillingness to say where the traffic comes from,
- requests for your store, distributor or Lunovia Records account credentials.
Legitimate promotion buys attention — advertising, editorial pitching, press, social campaigns — and cannot promise a number of streams, because it cannot control whether people listen. A service that promises a number is promising to produce that number by some other means.
The consequences of manipulated activity include withheld or reversed revenue at the store or distributor level. That reversal originates outside Lunovia Records and we cannot undo it.
5. Mass Low-Value Distribution and Release Flooding
The platform must not be used to flood stores with material whose purpose is to exploit their systems rather than to reach listeners.
The following are prohibited:
- automated or bulk generation of releases with no genuine creative purpose,
- repeated submission of substantially identical material in minor variations in order to multiply placements or capture search traffic,
- content constructed specifically to exploit payout thresholds, recommendation systems or store catalogue rules,
- submissions designed to occupy metadata space rather than to present a work.
A large or fast-growing catalogue is not, by itself, a problem. Production libraries, ambient and functional-music catalogues, prolific producers and label transfers are all legitimate. What we look at is purpose and substance, not volume.
6. Rights, Ownership and Documentation
Every release must be one you are entitled to distribute.
The following are prohibited:
- submitting a recording you do not own or have not been authorised to distribute,
- claiming ownership or control that you do not hold,
- forged, altered or fabricated licences, split sheets, permission letters or clearance documents,
- uncleared samples, interpolations, beats or compositions,
- unauthorised remixes, edits or covers where permission is required and has not been obtained,
- claiming to represent an artist, songwriter, producer, label or estate without authority,
- submitting a work that is subject to a conflicting exclusive agreement elsewhere,
- filing a copyright, ownership or takedown claim that you know to be false.
We may ask for documentation. Where ownership or authorisation is unclear, or where a third party has raised a claim, we may ask you to provide evidence — a contract, a licence, a permission letter, a clearance or written confirmation from a contributor. Documents you provide are stored outside the public parts of the platform and are used to assess the matter in question.
A review by Lunovia Records is not a verification of ownership. Accepting or distributing a work does not mean we have confirmed that the rights are yours; that declaration and that responsibility remain with you at every stage.
7. Impersonation and Misleading Identity
You must not present yourself, your release or your label as someone or something else.
This includes:
- releasing under the name of an existing artist, or a name chosen to be confused with one,
- using another artist's image, logo, branding or biography,
- placing an established artist in the primary or featured artist field without their involvement,
- naming a label in a way that implies an affiliation that does not exist,
- constructing metadata so that a release surfaces alongside, or is attributed to, a different act,
- opening or operating an account in someone else's name without their permission.
Where two acts legitimately share a name, that is a catalogue matter and we will work with the parties and the stores to resolve it. This section is about deception, not coincidence.
8. Metadata and Catalogue Integrity
Metadata is how a release is identified, credited and paid. It must be accurate, complete and submitted in good faith.
Manipulation is prohibited in any of the following fields: artist and featured-artist names, title and version, songwriter, producer and performer credits, release date, identifiers such as ISRC and UPC, genre, language, label name, copyright and phonogram lines, and ownership and contributor information.
Specifically, do not:
- add a featured artist who did not contribute,
- insert unrelated names, keywords or search terms into title or artist fields,
- misstate a release date in order to appear as a new release,
- reuse, alter or misappropriate identifiers belonging to another recording,
- attribute a composition or performance to a person who was not involved,
- change metadata after a rights declaration in order to alter the substance of what was declared.
Where release metadata changes after you have made a rights declaration, that declaration is treated as needing to be given again against the updated information.
9. Payment and Financial Integrity
The following are prohibited:
- submitting false, altered or third-party payout details,
- providing bank or identity information that does not correspond to the account holder,
- attempting to redirect another artist's royalties to an account you control,
- false tax or residency information,
- opening or operating an account in a false identity in order to receive payments,
- attempting to withdraw funds that are not attributable to your catalogue.
Before a payment is recorded as made, we require an external reference for the transfer. Payout requests that present an unusual pattern may be routed to human review before approval; a request being reviewed is not an allegation.
Where a payout is delayed, held, adjusted or reversed, that is done only where your agreement with us or applicable law permits it. This policy does not create a right for Lunovia Records to retain money that is owed to you, and it does not change the commercial terms of your artist or distribution agreement.
10. Account Security and Credential Abuse
Your account is the key to your catalogue and your earnings.
The following are prohibited:
- accessing an account you are not authorised to use,
- using credentials, tokens or API keys obtained from someone else,
- sharing credentials in a way that creates a security risk,
- attempting to bypass authentication, two-factor verification or session controls,
- attempting to reach administrative interfaces or other users' data.
If you believe your account has been accessed by someone else, tell us immediately. A compromise reported promptly is an incident we help you contain. The same activity discovered later, after funds have moved or releases have been submitted, is considerably harder to unwind — and where an account has been compromised, the resulting activity is treated under section 19, not as your own conduct.
11. Platform and Technical Abuse
The following are prohibited:
- circumventing access controls, rate limits or other protective measures,
- probing for or exploiting vulnerabilities,
- automated scraping of the platform or its APIs,
- automation that degrades service for other users,
- denial-of-service activity,
- abusive or excessive API usage, including deliberately exceeding agreed limits,
- interfering with Lunovia Records infrastructure, or with the systems of our partners or of stores.
Security testing requires prior written authorisation. If you believe you have found a vulnerability, report it to us privately rather than demonstrating it; we will not treat a good-faith report made in that way as a breach of this section.
12. Distribution and Store Policy Evasion
Stores and distribution partners set rules for their own services, and a decision they make about their service is theirs to make. You must not attempt to work around it.
The following are prohibited:
- re-uploading removed material under altered metadata, a new identifier or a different title,
- using an additional or third-party account to continue activity after a restriction,
- moving a catalogue between accounts or labels in order to escape an enforcement decision,
- altering identifiers in order to avoid matching against a prior decision,
- asking another person or service to carry out activity you have been told to stop.
Where a store requires something we cannot influence, we will say so rather than imply we can appeal on your behalf.
13. Automation and Artificial Intelligence
Artificial intelligence is not prohibited on this platform, and legitimate creative or operational use of AI tools is acceptable. Rules on AI in music are set out in the AI Music Policy.
What is prohibited is using AI or automation as an instrument of the conduct described in this document, including to:
- generate artificial streams, engagement or accounts,
- clone or simulate a real person's voice or likeness without permission,
- fabricate contracts, licences, clearances, identity documents or other evidence,
- mass-produce submissions in order to flood stores,
- construct misleading metadata at scale,
- generate deceptive communications, reports or takedown claims,
- probe, evade or interfere with protective measures on our systems or those of our partners.
14. How We Learn About a Problem
We want to be precise about this, because it affects what we can and cannot do.
Lunovia Records does not operate its own streaming-detection infrastructure and does not receive live playback data from stores. Reporting we receive on catalogue performance is periodic and retrospective, and it is not a tool for identifying manipulation as it happens.
In practice, integrity issues reach us through:
- notices from our distribution partners and from stores,
- reports from rights holders, artists, managers and other users,
- documentation and rights questions raised during release review,
- checks that run at submission on metadata, artwork and declarations,
- patterns visible in account and payout activity,
- security signals from our own systems,
- requests from competent authorities.
We act on what is reasonably available to us. We do not claim to detect all fraud, and no statement in this policy should be read as a guarantee that manipulated activity will be identified before it causes harm.
15. Review and Investigation
Where something needs clarifying, we may open a review. During a review we may ask questions, ask for documentation, ask you to explain an arrangement with a third party, and pause the transactions the review concerns.
A review does not establish that anything is wrong. Its purpose is to find out. Many reviews end with no action, and being asked about a release or a payout is not an accusation.
We will tell you what we need and why, to the extent we are able. In some cases — a legal obligation, an ongoing matter, a restriction originating from a third party — we may not be able to share everything, and we will say so rather than invent a reason.
16. Temporary Measures
While a review is open, and where it is reasonably necessary to protect artists, rights holders, partners, users or the integrity of our financial records, we may:
- delay a scheduled release,
- pause delivery of a release to stores,
- restrict access to specific content,
- restrict specific account functionality,
- hold a payout, where your agreement with us or applicable law permits,
- suspend credentials or API access,
- require documentation before a matter proceeds.
Temporary measures are applied proportionately: a question about one release is not a reason to close an account. They are lifted when the reason for them no longer applies, or when a review concludes that there was no breach.
17. Enforcement
Where a breach is established, the measures available to us include:
- a warning or a request for clarification,
- a requirement to correct metadata, credits or documentation,
- additional verification before further submissions,
- removal or restriction of specific content,
- suspension of distribution for an account,
- a hold or adjustment of revenue, where contractually or legally permitted,
- temporary suspension of an account,
- closure of an account,
- notification to distribution partners, stores or affected rights holders where appropriate,
- referral to competent authorities, or legal action, in serious cases.
What we do depends on the seriousness of the conduct; whether it was intentional, reckless or accidental; whether it has happened before; the financial impact; the impact on other rights holders; the impact on the stores that carry our catalogue; whether third parties were harmed; and whether you engage with the review.
We do not operate a fixed number of strikes. A minor first breach and a deliberate second one are different situations, and a mechanical rule would produce the wrong answer in both.
Except in serious or urgent cases, we will seek to give you an opportunity to put things right before taking a measure that affects your catalogue.
18. Immediate Action
In some situations a measure may be applied without a prior cure period, because waiting would cause harm that cannot be undone. These include:
- clear evidence of artificial streaming,
- deliberate copyright or ownership fraud,
- identity fraud,
- financial fraud, or an attempt to redirect another party's earnings,
- a compromised account,
- deliberate attacks on our systems or those of our partners,
- coordinated manipulation involving multiple accounts or releases,
- continued activity after a prior enforcement decision,
- a binding instruction from a competent authority.
Immediate action does not mean permanent action. Where a measure is applied urgently, the review still takes place, and the measure is reversed if the review does not support it.
19. Mistakes, Good Faith and Acts of Others
Not every problem is misconduct, and we do not treat it as such.
The following are handled as corrections rather than breaches:
- metadata and credit errors,
- accidental duplicate submissions,
- a misunderstanding of a rule or of a store requirement,
- a declaration given in good faith that turns out to be inaccurate,
- activity on your releases carried out by a third party without your knowledge, including a marketer acting beyond instructions or a compromised account.
Two things make a material difference to the outcome: telling us promptly, and not continuing to take the benefit of activity you know to be artificial. An artist who reports a problem is in a very different position from one who waits for it to be noticed.
20. Your Responsibilities
As a user of the platform you are expected to:
- submit accurate information about yourself, your releases and your rights,
- keep your account credentials secure and your recovery details current,
- check what a promotional service actually does before engaging it,
- keep evidence of ownership, licences and permissions,
- respond to reasonable requests during a review,
- report a suspected compromise or suspicious activity on your releases promptly,
- not knowingly benefit from activity that breaches this policy.
21. Reporting a Problem
If you need to report artificial streaming, copyright or ownership infringement, impersonation, a compromised account, payment fraud, a suspicious release or any other integrity concern, use the contact form and choose the relevant category, or write to us by email.
To let us act quickly, please include where you can:
- who you are and, for a rights claim, what your relationship to the work is,
- which release or account is concerned — a Lunovia Records share link, an ISRC, a store link, or the title and artist,
- what you believe is happening and, if relevant, on what basis you hold the rights,
- any supporting documentation,
- how we can reach you.
If you are reporting a compromise of your own account, do that first and gather details afterwards — speed matters more than completeness.
We acknowledge reports and review them. We may not be able to tell you what action was taken in relation to another user's account, because that information concerns them.
22. Personal Data in Reviews
Where we use personal information in the course of a review or an investigation, we do so in accordance with our Privacy Policy, the KVKK Disclosure Statement and applicable law.
This policy does not create any additional right to collect personal data, and it does not introduce any monitoring beyond what those documents describe.
23. Working with Partners, Stores and Authorities
Lunovia Records operates within a chain that includes distribution partners, stores, payment channels and rights holders. We may receive notices, claims, takedown requests and integrity signals from them, and we may be required to act on them.
Where we do, we act in accordance with applicable law and our contractual obligations, and we will tell you what we are permitted to tell you. Equally, where a decision is made by a store about its own service, that decision is theirs and we cannot reverse it.
24. How This Policy Relates to Our Other Documents
- Terms of Service — the general framework: accounts, content submission, review, removal, suspension and closure. This policy explains how those powers apply to integrity matters; where the two documents describe the same power, the Terms govern.
- AI Music Policy — rules on AI in music, including disclosure.
- Demo Submission Terms — rules specific to demo submissions, including misuse of the demo form.
- Privacy Policy and KVKK Disclosure Statement — how personal data is handled, including in reviews.
- Cookie Policy — cookies and similar storage.
- Your artist or distribution agreement — the commercial relationship: revenue, payment terms, term, territory and rights granted. That agreement may contain additional rights, remedies and obligations, and on its own subject matter it takes precedence over this policy.
25. Changes to This Policy
This policy will be updated as the platform, our partners' requirements and applicable law change. The version number, effective date and last updated date are published at the top of this page. Where a change materially affects your obligations, we will give notice in the way described in the Terms of Service.
